The count down to home has begun!

Well, it’s hopefully our last Monday away from home!

Friday was the completion of round 6 of the IVIG treatments and it went well.  We met Lisa and Sophia Harrison for dinner at The Gathering Place, for season fries and pizza!  Meanwhile Drew trout fished the Au Sable River with Ed and Josh Roden.  They all got fish, but I am sure if I had been there, I would have doubled their count!

Saturday was quite the day for Tracy.  We went for a walk around the entire facility, my guess is a quarter of a mile, with the walker.  Then we ate lunch and ran errands to 4-5 spots, with the last being the mall to get Tracy’s watchband resized.  We were out for about 2 ½ hours.

We went to church that evening too.  It is such a blessing to go to church with Tracy again.  After church we went out to dinner with Drew.

I left Tracy for the night a little after 9PM and started building the landing in the garage to make it easier for Tracy to get in the house.  I got the deck built and still need to put up a handrail to finish it.  I alsost need to find time to add handrails to both of the bathrooms.  I think I need to add four to the master bath and one to the ½ bath.  I think there are a couple of other things but, but I need to check the list.

Sunday morning I got up early to see Tracy before I headed out for a golf outing.  We had breakfast together and I left around 9:15 for golf.

While I was gone Nancy Moses, the Harrison’s (Jon, Lisa, and Sophie), and Drew stayed with Tracy while I played golf.

Time for a little bragging, I shot my first eagle!  It was a par 4, 357 yard hole.   We used my drive and then I sunk a 40 yard chip shot for the eagle and a skin.

I came back to see Tracy about 5:30 and spent the evening with her talking and playing solitaire.  Drew went to the annual meeting at church and then came to visit again also.

Monday was quite the day.  Therapy started about 9:30AM and ended around noon with a 20 minute break.  We spent the break outside enjoying the beautiful sunshine.  We had lunch and then Tracy said that she wanted to go shoe shopping, so we went shoe shopping.  We bought 4 pairs of shoes, two for Tracy and two for Drew!  How did that happen?  They each got two pair and I got nothing but the receipt!  We were out for a couple of hours and returned to Heartland to meet Drew and have dinner together.

After dinner Jane Riley came to visit.  It was her second visit and she was so excited to see how well Tracy was doing, compared to her visit in late January.  Tracy recognized Jane as soon as she walked into her room.   It was good to see her again and for Tracy and Jane to get to talk.

Tuesday morning I had a meeting at 8AM that didn’t end until 11AM.  So I didn’t get to see Tracy until after lunch as I went shopping for grab bars and a shower seat.  They said that Tracy ate all of her breakfast and all but a bite or two of her lunch!  I hope she continues to eat so she can get her calorie intake high enough to get her off of her PEG tube.

I still am not sure if I will continue use the Care Calendar or not.  I have had a few people sign up, so I am not sure how much of a help it will be.  For those of you who haven’t seen it, here is the info to get to it.

You will need to enter this Calendar Code is 113185 and the Security Code is 6428 to access the calendar.

Again my goal is not to force you into a time, but rather to see when people are planning to visit, hopefully back to back or close to each other, so that I can get some blocks of time to myself to get some things done.

Thank you to those of you who have used the CareCalendar.org website.

That’s all I have for now.

God Bless and “Never Give Up… Never Ever Give Up!”
Rob
