Once again I am writing to you from Tracy’s bedside. Thursday was somewhat of a quiet day. It started right at 8AM with an ultra sound test that lasted about an hour and then directly to an echocardiogram that also lasted about an hour. The last test was in another building. So the trip over was through the basement and the return trip was via a sky bridge. This place is so crazy, but I am figuring my way around.
The woman who did the echo test was really nice; she had been attending Kensington but had just moved to the Livonia area, (I know that is a hard word for some to say J). It was nice talking with her; she had old Christmas Music playing on Pandora. I think I will do that for Tracy.
After those tests it was back to the room. I forgot to mention that they didn’t have a sitter again for Tracy, so I got to go back on the payroll here again.
Tracy slept most of the day, except when the physical therapist came in. Another new job for me as insurance will only allow her to come in three times a week.
Finally a sitter showed up around 3:30PM so I took a break, did some work, got a few calls in and ate a small bite. I was back in Tracy’s room at 5PM and the sitter took her lunch about 5:45. She had only been back about and hour or so when they said that they needed to pull her to go to a room for a suicide watch patient. They asked me if I would sit until 11PM, as there was no one else. So back on the clock I went. I am kidding it is not like work at all, I wouldn’t trade this time for anything except for Tracy being better and we are spending this time with Drew, somewhere warm and sunny.
It was during this shift that I finished the previous post.
I got back to my room around 11:30 grabbed a snack, read a few emails and then to bed.
I will continue to write about today. I woke up about 6AM called to see how Tracy’s night was, and they told me she had a good one. I was happy to hear that, but still was not feeling very well so, I told them if they didn’t need me to sit I was going to go back to sleep and would show up around 9AM. They didn’t so I got a couple hours more of sleep and some breakfast, before showing up a little before 9:OO.
The sitter was Kristen, who I like a lot. She had bathed Tracy and tried some physical therapy with Tracy but I hadn’t gone so well.
Shortly thereafter the neurological team showed up, six of them! They stayed and evaluated and talked with me for at least half an hour. They are so intrigued by Tracy’s status so much you can see their minds working as you talk with them. We are in the right spot. Between these teams here and God, we will get it done.
When they left I worked with Tracy on some PT and she did great.
I talked with Drew and he said he was waiting on Uncle Ron and they would be off to see us. I have missed him so much and cannot wait to see him.
Well Dr. Saul our lead Doctor for the week just came in for about ten minutes to talk and she said she hates it but we are in a waiting game. They may try a different medication on Tracy to see if she will become more alert. But the weekend will be rather quiet as they wait for the slides, which showed the lymphoma, from Texas.
Well it is time for PT on Tracy’s left side as they now have laying on her right side.
God Bless and “Never Give Up… Never Ever Give Up” you know I won’t.
Rob
